Walking for Both Weight Loss and Heart Health
It is time for me to start my annual walking for weight loss. I always start off with the best of intentions of walking daily and losing this fat that I have put on over the last ten years...it's hard to believe that just ten years ago I was skinny...I could make excuses...torn ligament on a rib, and months of steroids...but that doesn't make allowances for ten years of up and down weights and fitness levels...
So here I go again with the best of attentions to start and maintain a workout program. Monday I walked for 40 minutes, burning an estimated 222 calories, and last night I increased my distance and time to 60 minutes, burning an estimated 337 calories.
Tonight's goal is to continue with at least a 60 minute walk...eventually increasing it to a 90 minute walk with at least a 120 minute walk on weekends...
I am doing this in order to lose weight, but more importantly to get healthy. I love to cook and I love to eat...so I need to make certain allowances so I can continue to enjoy the kinds of dishes I love making!
So who's with me? No matter the number of minutes you walk, set your goal and join me for a nightly walk...
Hope to see you out there!!!
