What I'm Reading Now 2/16/2012

After reading a horrible book that left a bad taste in my mouth, followed by several shape shifter novellas to work up my appetite for reading, I am embarking on book two in the Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series.
It was originally published in 1996, but with the movie One For The Money playing in theaters nationwide, it has been enjoying a resurgence in readers. Some are going back for seconds, but I am enjoying it, hopefully, for the first time.

The premise is simple...

Stephanie Plum is still an inexperienced bounty hunter, so her boss and cousin Vinnie gives her an easy case: apprehend local boy Kenny Mancuso, accused of shooting his best friend in the knee and then jumping bail. Because Kenny is the black sheep cousin of vice cop Joe Morelli, Morelli is on Kenny's trail as well.

Characters such as Ranger, Grandma Mazur, Joe Morelli, and Lula the hooker are set to make a reappearance in this novel. Oh, and both Stephanie and Joe have new cars...but will they be able to keep them, and will Grandma Mazur be allowed to get a gun after shooting the turkey in One For The Money?

I'll let you know when I finish...
