Resolutions
You know, it's that thing we do every year on January 1...fully intending to stick by whatever goal we set for ourselves...one year I had ten, a little excessive...and I intended to stick by every one of them!
Honestly, by March I forgot all but two and only one of those was a keeper...so this year, I put it out of my mind. I figured I was going to be a rebel and not make any resolutions I couldn't keep...
So, here I am on January 2nd, feeling a little guilty and ashamed because I don't have any goals set up for the new year. I figure, better late than never, and have decided on just two:
1. To appreciate what I have (my family, pets, friends)
and
2. To declutter and thoroughly keep a clean house this year...
Surely I can keep those two resolutions throughout the coming year...besides I'm off to a good start on both!
New Year's Day: Now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual.
~Mark Twain
One resolution I have made, and try always to keep, is this: To rise above the little things.
~John Burroughs
